Mindy Meigs

Mindy Meigs is an Orange County tax lawyer, with 15 years of experience as a trial attorney for the IRS Office of Chief Counsel, who now represents taxpayers in all aspects of tax controversy and tax litigation, including matters before the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the California Franchise Tax Board (FTB), the California Board of Equalization (BOE) and other taxing agencies.

Mindy has extensive experience in all aspects of tax controversy and tax litigation and has handled more than 500 cases before the U.S. Tax Court. Mindy represents individuals and businesses, as well as estates and trusts, on income tax audits, collection and refund matters, appeals, fraud investigations, foreign asset reporting, partnership tax matters, estate tax and gift tax matters, bankruptcy matters, innocent spouse relief, and penalty abatement among other matters. Mindy also counsels her clients in connection with collection due process (CDP) and collection appeal (CAP) hearings, offers in compromise and requests for installment agreements, levy release, lien subordination and withdrawal, and currently not collectible status.

With 15 years of experience as an IRS attorney, there are few (if any) tax controversy or tax litigation issues that Mindy can’t help you with. In fact, since Mindy entered private practice, Mindy has been hired by other well-respected tax attorneys from San Francisco to Orange County to help them with their cases by lending her insights, connections and inside knowledge of the procedures and techniques employed by the taxing agencies.
